Driveby Jamaica - (shots on the move)

When I was in Jamaica, a lot of times I would be driving around and I would see some shot I wanted to take but couldn't due to the fact we were off to some other place. And so I would just shoot from the car. In some ways these pics give you a feel of what some of Jamaica is like.
I give thanks to Esan Richards and Bridgette Reid for their kindness to be my official drivers - lol - and co-conspirators

This entry is dedicated to let your mind ........ Escape !!!!!!!!

No Home in Newark

Being homeless is no fun. And in Newark, New Jersey its seems like its a condition that prevails. I won't attribute this to the whole region but on my bus rides and when I board the train at Newark Penn Station I see much of this evidence of people being displaced. Most of these homeless folks take up residence at the station, begging, seeking warmth and of course a place to stay and sleep. A train station is no place to stay and not a place you can call home, but these people have no where to go and the officials that govern Newark seem not to care that they have a growing homeless population. They simply let them sleep and take residence inside or outside the station. It seems like there is a paucity of social programs to help these homeless people or maybe they are just being ignored and hopefully no one will notice.

Late Night Feelin'

You're just as naked child. you had that different cry when u were born. and in this grown up life you still naked.
I can see you, I can see you.
All of you, no how you try to hide my child.
Its them, yes them. Them God marks that give you away. So go into the world and be a special child.
let the dust and wind guide, read the signs.
Your naked is like no other

English Accent

So last year Bk Circus asked me to do some work for them for their coffee table book "Changing of the Guards". I shot a few personalities around Brooklyn and one of them was Adam Rogers.

So I went ahead and did some edits, since I didn't want these photos just sitting there in my archives. Adam has a vintage aesthetic to his nature, from his involvement in design to the seeking out of the old forgotten treasures of men's clothing from the past. Its all reflected in his visual presentation and personal manner and so here is a sample.

Made Men

These cats are smooth ....... Let me introduce them to you. The first is Adeleke and on the right is Rob, the first from Niger and the other straight from the seas of the West Indies. Both men steeped in the upbringing of the Diaspora, transcending and rising above with their dignified style and stature. The calm that they exude never wavers, a testament to the tropic currents that keeps them ... ultimately cool.

I am working on a series of images with them, so you will have to await their revelation with some bated anticipation.
